I got 3 shot sound from my car, a second apart @ 35MPH @ ~ 1700 RPM , Any guess why? It didn't repeat again thogh . Later I put the car on neutral and revved to 6K RPM, still not shot sounds. Nothing's corraded under , I check the base while Oil change ..... its a 96 Accord LX Auto..
should I be concerned about anything??

 

for the motor or was it in the rear of the car? maybe that might help people to answer your Q. i dunno about a shot gun sound but if its a knocking noise it could have detonated. if you were pushing on the gas, its been a while since i took shop, but if your speeding up and you hear a knocking sound that means the fuel and air is getting detonated at the wrong time, moving the pisten down while its on the up stroke. i'm not too sure, i can't remember its been almost a year since i took shop. someone else can tell you for sure.
