Default Skunk Stage 2's vs Skunk Pro 2's-(your results may vary) Mild 1.8 graphs !!!

Engine:
ITR block/crank.
81.5mm IB Spec Wiseco pistons (11:1)
IB ported ITR head. Stock valves.
IB ported ITR intake manifold.
70mm TB, custom intake.
Hytech header-Mugen TL cat back.
440 cc injectors, Hondata.

Tuned the Skunk Stage 2's last week and was able to pull 237.2 WHP (read hub HP).
Installed the Skunk2 Pro2's and tuned for about an hour. Made 232.7 on the same dyno-Shawn Church's Dynapack. With more tuning the Pro 2's would probably pick up a couple of HP-but ran out of time. VTEC on the Stage 2's was at 5,700. Pro 2's at 6,300. The Pro 2's are really meant for a wilder motor, but I like to experiment

Wow! Good Info. Man I can't believe how you are putting out 235 hp on a 81.5 mm bore. On shawn's dyno I put out 208 with an 84 mm built GSR bottom end with a B16 ported head. This is with 12.5 compression, SkS2 cams and ITR header and stock intake arm.

I guess it's the right combination of parts that really make the difference.

Keep up the good info Todd

i dont really trust the numbers to be that high (still probably good for 215+ though), but the main thing is seeing how the stages 2s compare to the pro 2s. Much props for the quality comparison .

I have never been Churches, so I am basing this on what I have read here, was this on his new dyno that is supposed to read just like a dynojet?

Yup. And I think that the Pro 2's are a little too much cam for this setup.

Car made 216 on a Dynojet with the Skunk Stage 2's. The point is the comparison, not how high the peak numbers are.

Nope, both Shawn's Dynapacks read about the same 8% or so higher than a Dynojet. How much depends on which Dynojet

Its that header that killing you. get something better, its not ment for a 2 liter. you can probally pic up 10-15 easy with a spark or pro fab or dtr something along those lines.

Get off of the crack. the funny thing is he has a 1.8L, so why would he need a header suited for a 2L? lately, i've been reading some dumb **** on this site.

No, it's the result of the intake resonance. There is one at 3,650 and another at at 6,200. Immediately after the resonance point spikes created by the intake, there are corresponding dips.

Not yet. Maybe when I have more time I will give it a shot.

As pointed out, the motor is a 1.8-not a 2 liter. I did bolt on a Sparks SMSP copy header and picked up some mid range, but the Hytech made more peak. At some point in the future, funds permitting, I would like to get one of Dave's headers made specifically for a high output 1.8

Strong motor man.

How come everytime I see a dynopack dyno the readings seem soo erratic. It's not a smooth constant line like a dynojet. Someone care to explain.

Im assuming ur talking about the torque #'s. Its not erratic. Look at how it is scaled, the #'s go in much smaller increments then dynojets do so its makes it look more obvious when the #'s change. If u switched the scaling of the #'s to larger increments then it would look smooth.

Thanks for doing the test... I have thought about trying the Pro 2's out but it looks like it not worth the trouble on a lower compression engine. Would they perform better on a 2L?
