Default B18C1 alternator belt too wide??!!

The motor is a 1995 B18C1. It is from a previous owner so it has some slight mods done to it. Basically I do not know it's history. It appeared to have an LS water pump and Timing belt installed, which I found out while replacing them with the B18C1 parts.

So the alternator belts that I have bought (two different brands) are just a smidge too wide, maybe 1/16in ?! Part number: 310k4 and 4040310. One was a generic, one was a gatorback. What the heck is going on? Could this be an LS dizzy, is there a different belt size/part number?!

Pulling my hair out...

Somehow the pulley on the alternator got hammered, and the lip was uniformly pushed inwards causing the belt not to fit. I tried a different alternator and everything is ok, ******* weird.
