i got a 94 civic ex and i was on my way home from work this afternoon and about 3 miles from my house the temp guage went into the red. i kept driving it just let it coast basically as much as i could, and when i got home i realized i was also leaking coolant. i found a broken upper radiator hose, but i would like to know if it is common for the hoses to break due to the thermostat not opening. also, after opening up my resevoir i found alot of black greasy stuff all along the walls of the resevoir and what not. a friend of mine said that could be because i rode the temp so high in the car that the head cracked... what do you think? help me lol
