Default Hybrid Luck

I'm new to the board, but it seems this is where all the clean ballin Honda cats go... anyways I bought a 92' Civic VX salvaged for $500 from my brother (only thing wrong with it was needed new front bumper and fender). My daily driver was a 96' GSR coupe, coming home one night I slow down for a flipped car on the side of the road and I get hit from behind at like 70mph, the good thing is there is no engine, tranny or suspension damage. The only thing is the frame is unrepairable. So I buy the integra back from salvage for $1100.

Me and a buddy put the GSR engine, tranny, wiring harness, axles, complete susp., and brakes etc. in the EH. (doing it ourselves saved a lot of money to say the least). The Hatch has been gutted of everything except the dash and 2 gsr seats, I even detarred the front seat floors. No AC, and some other weight reduction steps.

I have a few questions for fellow hybriders. I went to plug up the ECU and it was a different harness, probably because GSR is OBD II, but I was wondering if I could use the GSR wiring harness inside the cabin?

The previous owner of the civic cut the dash up bad and painted parts of it (looks like poo) and busted the heater core. So I'm going to take the civic dash and climate control components out completely and put the gsr dash in as a shell. So the wiring harness and computer will plug up, it's just I don't know about the lighting for the civic if it will plug up or not? What kind of problems will I run into?

Your input is appreciated. Sorry for the long post but it's my first on this forum. Also do you think I got lucky cost wise?? With the money i saved from doing the swap myself and the cheap GSR salvage price, I'm going turbo (hence the username).

-Thanks

You could probably wire over the cab harness, but you don't want to do that to keep the GSR ecu. If you want to do this the best would be to stay OBD-1. Find a P28 aka SOHC VTEC ecu from 92-95 Civic Ex's and Si's nad have it chipped for DOHC VTEC but they don't have the IAB function and you would need the Skunk2 manifold or something equivalent. The other option would just be the OBD-1 ecu from a Teg.

The reasons against OBD-2 means it doesn't perform as well with modifications and the secondary O2 will cause problems when you want to straight pipe your exhaust when you go to the turbo (for off-road purposes only of course )

You have got a hell of a car for under $2K!!!!!
