Default new b20/vtec build Q's???

i'm new to the Bseries motors...been running h's for the past 6 years. just wondering if you need to sleeve a b20b block to run 12:1 forged pistons...
i've also got a typeR head, and was wondering what cams i should use with that setup... i'm aiming for around 220whp daily driven...thanks for your help.

I would recommend it, I have seen cases of B20 sleeves cracking because CR was too high.

bump would like to know as well. I picked up a b20 and cant afford to sleeve it but i can get pistons and rods etc. So is it necessary to do sleeves even if its not my daily driver?

it would be good to sleeve the bock for strength because of the weak block highest compression im thinking 11.5 to 1 or even maybe ur comp just for safety id sleeve it i know people with 13.5 and higher sleeving the b20 but id just sleeve its my opion and on the cams ive heard about the skunk2 stg 2 pro cams love comp or some bc 4s

Yeah I wouldn't go more than 11.5:1 on a stock B20 sleeve. I am at ~11: 1 with mine.

Its only been street tuned so far, no dyno yet. But if power being made by a Protege on 10psi and a 14 sec SRT is any comparison, then I am somewhere close there.
