Like it says i am installing a YS1 cable tranny into my CRX, the tranny has a factory LSD unit in it and I am just wondering what fluid I should be running in the tranny,
I have GM syncromesh for it right now but do I need a additive for the LSD???
any help is good
Hmm. You should not need any extra fluids.
I recommend Honda MTF and i've been told that GM Synchromesh is a good product also.

I've heard nothing but great thnigs about that GM Syncromesh.
A guy in the shop where I doing my swap says that Honda's use motor oil and not transmission fluid. I've never heard of that and plan to use GM Syncromesh. Has anyone heard of using motor oil instead?

Yeah I used motor oil for my last tranny but it failed. Just picked up 3 qt's of syncromesh for $40 CDN.
Motor oil will work but it has to be changed frequently, because it breaks down way quicker then Honda MTF or GM syncromesh which is partly synthetic.

I used HONDA MTF....no problems whatsoever.....I have made over 30 600hp runs on this tranny and it has yet failed on me...
LS cable tranny with stock b-16 YS1 LSD......gotta shave the the LS casing and it drops right in.
