NEW MPH BEST FOR OUR SOHC
welp we hit a BEST MPH of 120mph last night at Cecil County Dragway
the car is a 95 civic coupe with a D16z6 with a t3/t4 .50/.63 pushing 14psi
our mph was going up all night
here is the finally run
this was done on falken azeniza of however you spell it, lol
60" - 2.44
1/8 mile 8.894
1/8 Mph 92.64mph
1/4 Mile 13.105
1/4 MPH 120.86mph
yes i know the 60' sucks
we will be taking this car back to the track sunday on slicks we are going to try 24.5X8X13s, hoping the car will not bog out of the whole
we may also turn the boost up to about 18psi and shoot for 11s in the old sohc

If its a dx coupe, (about 200 pounds or so lighter than an ex) than you would not need 350 whp to trap 120 , (on street tires at that)... He will probably be around 118ish on slicks, and I would have to say around 275-285 whp.....

I guarantee you this car dynoes well over 300whp. Hatches with 280whp (give or take a few hp) run 115 traps.

Like I said, if its a dx coupe there weight is identical to hatches (do some research as you will find this out), than I know for a fact it does not take well over 300 wheel to go approx 118 on slicks, or 120 on streets... My old dx hatch was full weight with no more than 285 whp, and it was going 118-119 on a full slick....But I will retract my statement if this car is a full weight (ex model) and if the driver does in fact weigh 300 pounds, than yes it may take 325-350 whp to go that fast...

I've done plenty of research and I know exactly what those cars weigh. My brother's hatch (2145 lbs with driver) ran 12.4@115 with 280 whp. DX coupes are in the neighborhood of 2300 lbs + 300 lbs for the driver. That is 2600 lbs. In order for a 2600 lb car to trap 120, he will need over 300 whp. CX hatches are much lighter than DX coupes. However, if you are referring to an Si Hatch, then yes, those weigh the same as DX coupes. In my other post I was referring to CX/DX hatches.

Cool, I was kinda shocked when I found out a dx coupe actually weighs in at about 30 pounds lighter than dx h/b of the same year...Dont ask me how that is, but I know its true... Also I believe certian years make the weights vary a small amount...I know there is a thread link on here somewhere that has all the exact curb weights for every honda from like mid 80s on up...
