Default Does this make sense?

Hey guys right now I have a 99 si with an exhaust that is a little to loud for my tastes. I am thinking of keeping the cat to axle part of the aftermarket exhaust and bolting up the stock axle back.

- Will the stock axleback bolt up to an aftermarket cat - axle piece?
- Will the stock muffler be able to bring it to near stcok noise or atleast really cut down on noise?
- Will this have better performance then stock since it would flow better for more then half the exhaust?
- Sound like a good idea or no?

Thanks

-Your stock axle-back should bolt up to your aftermarket B pipe.

-It should go back to stock sounding, unless you have a high-flow cat, in which case it'll only be a little louder than stock.

-It will go back to stock performance because you are still restricting airflow. Any bottleneck will back the whole system up.

-If you don't like the noise it'll work. But my suggestion would be to get an ES oval can welded to the axle-back of your aftermarket exhaust. ES is supposed to sound like stock, but perform better.
