Default are all SOHC spark plug wires the same

I did search but all I got was "what spark plugs are the best", and "what do you recommend" Question is this. Are all d16 and d15 sohc plug wires the same. I went to the honda dealer to get OEM, and they said they didnt have any for an 88. SO, what else will work. I have a d15b2 Thanks, let the bashing begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

88-91. 92-95 are different when it comes to a vtec motor i believe. or maybe its the same for the non-vtec motors as well.

Part No: 32722-PM5-A01

Si and DX plug wires are interchangeable for 88-91. Plug wires for 92-95 VTEC engines are NOT interchangeable. If you want OEM give them that part no. and they can order it for you if they don't have it in stock. Other wise get any plug wires for an 88-91 Si or DX.

by this do you mean that you have to use 92-95 spark plugs in those cars? because i work at advance auto parts and when i went to go buy spark plugs i saw that we didnt have any of the plugs that i wanted(ngk iridium) for my d16z6... but i saw that we had them in for a y8... bought them put them on and car was running better than i had ever had it running before ... so they are interchangable with y8 plugs just to let everyone know

VTEC (D series) can go with other VTEC (D Series) plugs. Non-VTEC can be interchanged with the 88-91 plugs.

well it doesnt make a huge difference but since ive installed them ive noticed that the motor seems to idle and run smoother... its not much but its enough to get noticed... no matter which spark plug i use it will always be NGK ... they truely make an amazing spark plug... as far as power gains go i might have gained a little bit but i cant really say... i love them so much that i just went out and bought a second set and put them in today... still running great... an important thing to note though is that they already come pregapped so dont try to gap them

sry for the thread jacking... im done now... lol

I know this is old but was just searching on this and looked up the info so thought I’d pass it Incase others are looking.
The d15 and d16 use the same plugs. I’m not sure yet if the wires.
But if u look at anywhere that sells plugs (ex-autozone)
they are the same part number for my 90-d15b2 and my 93 d16z6. Ngk- part#4554

Ugh, don't necro a 14 year old thread. To save someone in the future undue pain, the original, 14 year old information is correct.

NGK part RC-HE53, stock 9988, compatible with D15B1, B15B2, and D16A6.
NGK part RC-HE71, stock 8026, compatible with D15B7 and D15B8.
NGK part RC-HE76, stock 8034, compatible with D16Z6, D16Y7, and D16Y8.

HE53 will fit on a D15B7 as heads are functionally the same as the B1/B2, but apparently there is some variation in the spec.

The Z6 head is not the same as the earlier D series, the dimension are completely different.

Look up compatibility with the OEM, do NOT trust the parts stores. They give exactly 0 ***** about accurately listing parts for a 30 year old import economy car, and in my experience Autozone is easily the worst offender.
