Fluidyne Radiator Good Upgrade?
I was going to get a Fluidyne radiator. I figured it would be a good upgrade especially since I will be traking the car in the hot Arizona summer weather. Is it worth it? Or will this not help a lot?
With Fluidyne radiator, Spoon thermoswitch and thermostat, and a 60/40 mix of water and OEM coolant, my temperature has NEVER gone above 175 deg. F
90% of the time it's between 150-160. Around noon, when it's the hottest outside, it's like 165-ish. Takes quite a while to get up to operating temperature tho'.
The radiator fan bolts right on, but you have to make modifications for the condenser fan to bolt up. I used a automatic trans cooler mounting kit from B&M.

Fluidyne radiators are over priced and do not give you that much of an advantage. If I were you, or looking for a radiator upgrade, i would go with C&R Racing Incorporated. The are race proven. They make radiators for Indy cars, and full raod race cars like Porsche Motorsports, Penske Racing, Patrick Racing, Reynard, Riley & Scott, and many more. And for the price of JUST the Fluidyne radiator, you can get a C&R radiator WITH the electric fan.

My buddy dropped on into his crx, and now the needle never moves above the C..... Before it used to get almost to the 1/2 mark. And in the wintertime, forget it: no hot air blows out of the vents, period. We're lucky to get air that's not cold!

That's what your girlfriends are for dude. Have a orgy in your car and that will fog up the windows for ya..

Anyways, I am getting a really good price so that is why I am wanting to buy it.
Hell, in AZ track temperatures get easily up to 150+ on the track.
I have the Fluidyne and have to agree with MikeK, My car never goes above 74C when driving and 82C when sitting
I have Fluidyne Radiator, Spoon Thermostat and switch, and 2 12" Slimline Fluidyne fans.
Mike K - I'll finally have those Spoon Rad Caps in, I'll test fit to the Fluidyne and let you know

You can just get the CSF radiator if you want a little step up, but still run in cold winters.
Not bad for $159
