hey guys i was wondering what you think might be the problem with my prelude. It's the h23 motor. For some reason, it does not want to start. The car cranks and there is fuel going into the rail. What could be the problem?

um, i think we need some more details, it could be a ton of things, are you getting a spark?

 

Main relay has gone bad.

 

Did you do any work to it recently??

 

Hi. I have the same problem. I have a 1993 with h23a motor I installed a used Jap. engine car runs great all of a sudden I experienced a crank no start problem during hot summer days. So I would let interior cab cool then start up. I tested everything and I taught maybe fuel pump was getting lazy so I replaced. Did not do a thing same problem all over. If you found a solution please let me know.

Main relay handles two things.

1- energizes the fuel pump
2- energizes the fuel injectors

You can hear the fuel pump come on, but if the injectors don't get juice, it won't start.

can't be the main relay if fuel is getting to the rail

Main relay does two things. Read my above post for details.

 

if you have trouble starting sometimes it is because you are using regular gas. if it doesn't start at all it could be many of thing mostliklly sounding from yours can be the relay.. but check into all your grounds sometimes the simplest thing is your biggest problem...
