Default head gasket for a turbo charge siR w/ stock internals

my brother got a siR and the head gasket went bad. he told me that if i am willing to fix it, he'll let me put it in my car. he has a turbo kit for it. i was wondering what's a good size (thickness) head gasket to put on to run the turbo on stock internals. probably 7psi is what i'm looking for on boost.

of course adding a thicker head gasket would lower compression a bit and widen the window of tuning but i think the oem headgasket can handle a decent amount of power but i know you just wanna add alil cheap insurance but its all in the tuning specialy if your just wanting to make moderate power and run low boost.

i heard of big power honda's using oem HG just like Steph for example 1600+hp on oem HG love my honda's

but if you wanna do it then do it but if your gonna go as far as ripping the head off to replace the gasket i would throw some arp's in there too if you want alil insurance

when you say "arp", what do you mean. i'm still at a rookie stage so i'm not sure as to what you are talking about.

as of right now, i'm in tech. school and in the next few month we are going to start on the upper engine and i want to fix up the siR to past the class. to fully tuning it, it'll be awhile. but since i'm going to do this, i just want to "sort of" prepare for it being tune.

ARP is an aftermarket bolt company

they make the strongest bolts

they make headstuds, rod bolts, etc.. that are strong

like mentioned before if your gonna rip the head off spend the extra 115 bucks for the headstuds
