So dealer finally admitted there was a problem with the syncros on my 05 type S, so they were originally going to fix just 1st to 2nd, but after tranny was apart, they decided to replace all forward gears. Picked up my car a few hours ago, stop for gas, make u turn go thru 1-2-3-4-X no fifth gear!!! WTF, so MAD, back to dealer, service is closed, told secretary was taking loaner car back, and to fix my car!! This is not something I expect when buying a brand new car from a Acura Dealership. GRRRRR so angry!! No Type S until monday or tuesday now. (base rsx auto )

that ******* sucks, i hope you are able to get everything fixed soon. If i were you i would demand a new transmission, since they are not able to get the current one you have to work correctly.

 

wow all I hear is problems with trans from the type S. Makes me scared about mine.

 

Well just got a call back from dealer, apparantly the solenoid which allows you to go in reverse was non functional or messed up, so it was like the area only allowed for reverse was always opened up, making me go right passed fifth and into an imaginary 7th gear...... so they supposedly fixed it and is ready to go, so we will see.

 

I must have gotten one of the few type-s's that doesn't have the usual problems.

Well I got my car back yesterday, 1st gear is definately better, I did feel still a notchy feeling into 3rd every so often depending where my rpms are at when i shift, my only guess is that 3rd gear in the RSX's are just a notchy gear. But overall i am somewhat satisfied. Hopefully no more prob's.
