Default H23 Rods

I haved searched all over the forums for info on h23 rods but I cants find any info. I want some light weight ones for a NA set up. I can find info on crower and pauter rods, but they are heavy and arent chaep. Does anybody have any feed back on like Probe scat or other rods that are light and arent high priced?

Probe rods are not of the greatest quality. The only "big" rod companies that make H23 rods are Crower's big old bling billets, and Pauter will custom make you some.

IMO, you should just get a fresh set of OEM rods and have them cryo'd and shotpeened.

Eagle/Scat.... but if you have the money go billets

You may want to check into the crower econo rods... I have not worked with them before but check to see what bolt sizes they used compared to the eagles.

I thought about it becaue I won't have high hp numbers, but would I have to mod the OEM ones to make them fit a set h22 endyne rollerwave pistons?

guess i am going eagle. this is going to be an economy build. it dosent need to last the longest since i might be putting 500 miles on the car a year..if that. i have my daily driver for my main driving purposes, but i am sure a sleeved block with forged pistons and rods can handle a hell of a lot more mileage with only 350 whp with a fuel system and a full tune..

as for the rods working with the h22 pistons, i think h22 and h23 have different rod lengths, which will change your CR. i forgot which one was longer, but the longer one will yield a higher CR obviously.

also, what's the stock bore for a h23? 89-91ish? i know its something around there..

the h23 rods are longer then h22, the pistons will stick out .006 and bump up my CR. I'm not sure what the bore is on a h23 but i think it is aroun 84 or 85 mm.

IIRC, all aftermarket H22 pistons are designed for a floating wrist pin. This means you will have to have the H23 rod's little end rebushed to accept the wrist pin.

Yup, they'll be as strong.

I don't know for sure off the top of my head what they charge, but I wanna say it was under $10 a rod on average.

I went next door to Honda and they told me 117.00 a rod with my discount other wise it would be 149.52. I might just end up going with the crower maxi-light, thats what my local shop told me to get.
