Well ummmmm where do I begin?????
A seller has the right to sell his/her item to whoever the **** they want. Seriously. What the **** is DIBS??? Is this a ******* Saturn commercial???? Are we in kindergarten???
I have sold 10's of thousands of dollars of stuff on HT. Everytime someone says dibs I laugh. If I do not see the money in my hand then its not yours.
I have to laugh at how childish BBasso is getting. I mean I dont know you, but you seemed like a cool guy. Let me tell you this. 95% of the people buying **** off of HT are flakes. They say they will buy something and they back out. So if a sale can be had that is guaranteed and easier, then why the **** not do it?
**** the man said local preferred. Im local, he knows me, so that makes this transaction 100% safe. Nu is a busy guy. He has a family to take care of and a job to do, so driving around to ship for wheels makes for a very complicated trip. So why overreact over something so small?
Where in all of your PM's did he say for sure 100% I will sell them to you. He said I'll see what I can do. That is not a guarantee. You DID NOT lose any money. You DID NOT already pay him in advance.
The bottom line is this. He is the seller. He can sell whatever he wants to whoever he wants. You as a prospective buyer can ONLY HOPE that u get the good deal. But if you do not, look for another deal. That's what I do. I see things left and right that I want that I dont get because someone else has already paid or whatever. I don't go and throw a tantrum and cry about it.
Nu is one of the best people in this forum and he IS THE NICEST guy I know from this forum.
Lets say you were selling the rims. Someguy calls dibs and you agree to check on shipping. Then your buddy is in need of some rims and is willing to pay you cash and pick them up. Are you really gonna tell me that you aren't gonna do what saves you time and effort????? Especially when no money has changed hands and no guarantee or promise has been made?
I think this is the most retarded thing I have ever seen. Someone thinks that
"I'll check on shipping" somehow equals "I promise you are guaranteed 100% that I will sell this item to you" is beyond me.
Grow the **** up. **** happens.

I made this thread because Nu is getting a bad rap and that is far from what I want. Nu is seriously the nicest guy I know here. I don't mean to drag this on, but I need to make people realize that calling "dibs" on something does not make it yours. It is ultimately up to the seller to do with his/her parts what he/she wants.
I can call "dibs" on an Enzo does that mean it's mine? Gimme a break.
Let's see here then..... I call "dibs" on Kristen Kreuk, Jessica Alba......u get the point.
It is up to whoever holds the good to sell to whoever they want. Just because you walk into a restaurant and say I want this meal and show them money, doesn't mean they have to serve or sell u food. If they don't like you or don't want to sell something to you then they have that right. They can tell u to get the **** out of their place of business. It doesn't matter whether or not u say you want something. All I'm saying is that Bbasso is a grown man, he shouldn't throw a tantrum.

If he prefers local sale he should just said , Local pick up ONLY !!!!
And then I think that Bbasso wouldn`t have said anything.

I agree with the above, BUT you guys have to look when you post something for sale, the rules are that you have to ship it or meet up locally. At least that is what I thought, regardless, I hope it works out, and yes, something so frivolous shouldn't be argued over.
****, it's 400 bucks for a set of new rims, it's really not that much money AT ALL!

this is so funny in all respects.
we have two very well known itr guys on this forum fighting over some fake spoon wheels.
Nu said he preferred a local buyer and would check on shipping cost and would get back to bbasso.
an hour later the wheels were going to jdmspoonitr because he was local.
i agree with the gramps
"Selling to the other guy was, perhaps, not the completely, totally, absolutely right thing to do...but isn't it the seller's right to sell to whomever would be the least trouble and least costly to him, either in temporal or monetary terms?
I don't understand why this is such a big deal."
lets not cry over some gay rims.

There's a difference between preferring local sale, and requiring it. He said that he prefers local sale. What that means is, (a) if there are multiple buyers, some local and some requiring shipping, he would prefer to sell to someone who will come pick them up; but (b) if all the buyers are distant, he is still willing to ship them. Very simple. And that's exactly what happened.
That's NOT the same thing as refusing to ship (the words that you are trying to put in his mouth).
You seem to only view this through your bias of losing out on purchases because you're in Malta. I'll give you an example to think about. Let's say you're selling a set of wheels and you post on h-t.com that they're for sale. The first buyer who contacts you is in the United States and is willing to pay your price plus pay shipping. The second buyer who contacts you is in Malta and is willing to pay your price and come pick them up. You might prefer to sell to one buyer or another, but isn't that your right as a seller, to choose whom you'll sell your wheels to?

Thanks Ken! You didn't really have to depend me at all and I did not feel the need to depend myself either. I only care if people I know give me a bad rap. I don't give a rat a$$ if strangers giving me one.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a "shooters duel" at EXPO 6, just beyond turn 2.
