Default I want answers. No mods around to help.

I would like some help on this, I don't want this to fall into the cracks and be forgotten.

I contacted the Mod who locked it but no response...

here are the two threads I need assistance with.
first: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1378940
second: http://hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1378934

So why was the thread just locked without resolving it first?
My comments are posted on the second thread, please take a look.

Ya know what. **** THIS PLACE. It's been filling up with a bunch of Flakes, J.Os, hot air filled fockers and wanna be cool people. I'm out and do not contact me. I could care less about this matter or anything else on H-T.

As for the thanksgiving thread, for those that have been to the last one, it's at the same place if you want to continue but I highly doubt I'll go if there are certain people there.
Wow this forum was really cool at one point, so sad to see it come to this.

Unfortunately, I've had that happen to me as well Rob. I'm up in West Coast Canada so shipping is a major PITA most of the time for you US guys. I respect that and I pay everytime I order. A few times dudes backed out because they found another buyer locally

I fully agree with Rob; post ALL your intentions in your sale thread.

i hate to jump to conclusions - but newr appears to be just another piece of **** on this board with no integrity. and of course his marketplace thread is edited, so who knows what it said originally.

and this board is all about hushing up conflict. i feel its because there is no fair system or procedure implemented to make users accountable for their actions. whether its unintentionally or intentionally unfair... no idea. i know nothing about it, just an opinion after seeing a lot of conflicts, and being in some big ones.

and i agree rob. there is one reason to be in this forum. Expo. and all the announcements get put up on ITRCA - and you know how to get in touch with those from the forum that you are friendly with. sad, but the new generation of r owners/forum members (most) dont care/dont get it/are clueless.

From those IM's, it shows the seller was willing to ship but failed to conclude the deal by not providing the shipping cost.

I will be sure not to do business with the person in question, and I am sure others reading this thread will follow suit. Additionally, I do not think that the thread should have been locked without properly resolving the situation. But I am not a mod, and cannot make that decision.

am i included in that new gen group?

sad but true it happens, most people would prefer local to avoid shipping since shipping wheels are a pain, however if he did promise you the wheels, he should have followed through. just my .02 on things

btw how could this issue be resolved? just thought i'd ask, should he sell the wheels to rob? or how would a mod resolve this? ban the seller? i think mods can only do so much.

dont worry rob, you'll get another chance at a probably better set. dont let the situation get the best of you.

i dont agree with the 'dont fight it' 'dont let it get the best of you' comments.

why does an ignorant/delinquet seller get the nod of approval? he fucked over rob intentionally or unintentionally. either way its not acceptable. maybe i just share robs feistiness...

chris - who didn't mean to upset anyone with the 'new generation' comments.... its just the feeling i think a lot of people get in here these days.. not one person in particular.

<~~not upset about joo comments, just wanted to ask

its not that i give the seller the nod of approval, its a commonly thing that happens on here, i've got seller backn out on me too a few times due to buyer locally. (usually they dont wanna ship or i'd have to add extra $$ to get their asses to ship it). I was upset about it the first time it happened since we already made a deal and was about the send the $$ but called me right after our last convo and said he already sold it. Of course i was upset, then again it happened again, n a third time, then i realized screw it, **** happens, move on n find something else instead on venting my time on someone who i won't even meet or see.

I totally understand rob on this one. I had someone tell me the same thing. I was promised the front end to my race car and the person even edited their FS thread to reflect that I was buying it. Told the seller I had money in hand and would even over night it from FL to CA. Well come monday I PMed him again and he said he had sold the parts locally. That is total BS to me. I would have gladly paid for everything.

Makes me mad when people back out, I don't mind shipping parts and I sell it to whoever gets it first and I've put down local offers even when it was already sold out of state, and I even make less shipping. Don't be too fusturated Bbasso.

I don't get it. If you agree to sell someone a product, why would you go sell it to someone else. It makes no sense to me

a deal is not complete until cash/money is exchanged...

IMO, in this particular case there was no explicit agreement/deal

what if...
the seller had not conveniently ignored/delayed Rob....?

im sure rob would have sent the money asap had the guy actually had the intention of shipping.

i agree, but thats a what if...

nobody will ever know if the seller did or not...
its just like a baseball beaning, only the pitcher will ever know if he did it on purpose

but base upon what i read from the thread, there was no concrete agreement to sell rob the wheels...the only thing the seller promise to do was to get back to rob on how much shipping would be...

I agree 100%, selling my transmission this summer some other loser got really upset and decided to take it out over AIM yelling and whining asking why I sold it to a friend when he was "first" to express interest in it (good friend, has helped a lot and been like a brother, j00 know who u arrr)

Unless theres cash in the exchange, nothings set in stone, things come up, other buyers pay first etc. I've sold a LOT here on H-T, including one of my old cars, and bought my last two.

Honestly, the guy that bitched at me can go F himself for doing so. A seller doesnt have to sell to anyone, and if the deal is made first then all you can do is cry about it or just forget about it.

I also had a case not too long ago, I am in need of some new fenders, seller had them, i expressed interest, had cash ready, ready to pick up but he sold them to someone else. I didnt bitch and curse and AIM and PM all crazy or anything, I said good deal, congrats on the sale, thanks for keeping me updated...

I dont understand what posting up here will do, go look at the size of the marketplace, its huge and this kind of stuff happens prob a hundred times a day. Whats to gain out of this, docking points from the seller? What?

first step in agreement/deal:

shipping quote so that the buyer can determine if they are interested and willing to spend $x.

if the first person asks for shipping quote and says 'im interested, give me a shipping quote so i can send you money'... and the seller says i'll get back to you with info... to me thats 'pending'.

just because a day later someone closeby wanted them, does not the seller have an obligation to that person who is waiting to send money? I think the seller does have an obligation. Had they already gathered shipping info, they WOULD have had an agreement.

Seller dropped the ball, imo, on purpose. And the subject matter of the first post in that fs thread has changed, so its pretty sneaky to say the least.

That's pretty fucked up, I agree with Rob on this one.

However, it is also true that a deal isn't finished until someone has a product and someone else has the money.

I agree...everyone prefers local pickup, I've stopped caring when someone sells stuff locally after I've expressed interest. I'd prefer local pickup too, if I were a seller.

No use getting bent out of shape...just be glad he didn't decide to sell it locally after you sent him money.

y'all keep saying this

but if they seller is gonna blow off all interested parties who are not local and did not specifically say 'local pickup only'... then whos fault is it? the seller is accountable. AFAIAC, when i put an item up on h-t, the first person who contacts me is #1. if it falls through, i move on to #2. I TELL people that someone has expressed interest, and if they should fall through, i will contact them ASAP. How do you guys do it? pick someone you like and sell to them?
