This alternator belt lasted long...
Only time I saw something like that is when the bearings went out on my s/c idler pulley, shooting metal everywhere. It punctured the p/s belt, but I had metal shavings everywhere as well.
Kind of OT but I thought the brand of the belt was kind of funny...
Mutsuboshi?? It even has a logo that kinda looks like the Mitsubishi logo (three stars vs. three diamonds)... weird... but yeah the quality seems as crappy as Mitsubishi itself.

"Jeff: Maybe you ran over a midget...and he got pissed and started stabbing things and what you heard was his armn being sheared off and getting run over"
Haha or maybe because the belt was mutshushiti

The belt is at the correct tension, charging has been fine, no alternator problems whatsoever.
So looking over the engine bay today I notice this:

It looks as though something punctured it from the underside, and has a hole through it, you can feel it from the bottom. So total mileage on this belt ~5000 mi(maybe).
Anyone ever see this happen or know what might have happened to cause this?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Mine had the exact same damage, but i replaced it along with the timing belt, water pump, etc..
I wonder how it could be the same damage in the same place?
