Exhaust Question
I have a cat-back Invidia exhaust and when I bought it everyone told me that I would gain a little power when ran the silencer but a lot more if I didn't use the silencer. Well I ran the silencer for a while then took it out and thought it didn't accelerate quite as fast but didn't pay much attention to it. Well I put it back in today and I will be damned if it doesn't seem to acclerate a whole lot faster. Somone else drove the car with out it and then again with it and thought the same thing I did. Why is this or is it something that is not happening and just feels that way to me? I thought it would be less restrictive without teh silencer.
haha. I swear though everytime I take it out or put it in I notice how it seems much faster with it in. I had somone else drive it and they swore it was faster with it in also so it's not just me. I just don't get how this could be. I don't know how the top speed is now but accelerating from a stop it seems to be a lot peppier.
more restriction can sometimes mean better bottom end torque....but honestly, it really can't be making that much of a difference -butt dynos ALWAYS lie...
take the car to a friend, with it in. dont say anything, and tell them to gun it. then take it out, but still dont say anything, and tell them to gun it. i guarentee they wont tell a difference if they arent expecting one (hence why you dont say anything)
