Default oil residue around oil pan on newer bike

i purchased a 2004 gsxr 600 not too long ago with only 4000 miles. it has been running alright, but I have had some doubts about the well being of the motor. it doesnt seem to be running as smooth as it should. it doesnt jump idle or anything, it just has a clacking or slapping sound under load/acceleration. i made a seperate post about that. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1357928

what i'm posting about now is that I noticed oil residue all around the gasket that connects the oil pan to the block. i have seen this oil staining/residue on shitty d series blocks, but not a near new bike. what do you think this is about? it is not seeping anywhere else, just all around the oil pan. is this a symptom of overfilled oil? could this have caused my other problem, in the other post?

thanks for reading.
