2001 Honda CIvic SI COUPE, the car Honda never came out with
This is the car we did a K20A3 swap in. It started as an 01 Honda CIVIC EX AUTOMATIC. we gave it a new heart from a 02 RSX and we ditched the automatic transmission in favor of a better and closer geared 5 speed. We did all the wiring and conversion parts, and we KEPT AC AND POWER STEERING, which most people said you couldnt do. We also did it all WITHOUT the HASPORT wiring and axel kit. You wold be surprised what axels work, its not what they say on the internet. anyways just wanted to show and tell, thats all, we'll dyno it in a few weeks.

yup
so i bought this front clip from an insurance company (totalled out RSX 02,rear was destroyed, front untouched) but the rest fo the car was PERFECT. Only problem was that it was missing axels. well the guy we bought it from promised we could have some axels he would just have to track some down. Well, that never got done, and we were forced to try and purchase new ones, which if anyone has tried, they run $600 from the dealer.
I had some spare GSR axels laying at the shop, and just for ***** and grins we tried, work flawlessly. bolted up and slid in FINE, with no binding. i have driven the car a total of 200miles since then, some with EXTREMELY hard cornering, and some 1st gear launches, i reinspected the car and NO PROBLEMS what so ever. axels are holding up fine.
Now i dont know about long term use, ill keep you guys updated, but right now it appears you can use B series no problem. Hasport says you have to use RSX or SI axels, or GSR outers and RSX inners, well i proved that wrong.

sexy swap. I hope u got it for cheap tho. most k20a3's only dyno around 128 whp
, which is even less than a b16's 138ish.(taken from jacksonracing's webpage) Still they are sexy to boost! I am still envious of your K.

yeah what mounts did you use? even so, the hasport wiring kit saves you a lot of trouble...

All I got to say is that my boy smoked a 99-00 SI in his base model RSX w/ intake only...The SI even had a jump, sneaky bastard...But we still left him behind...

i dont see how, but maybe the guy in the 00 Si wasnt trying, cause the base RSX runs like 16.2's stock and stock Si's run like 15.7's

Your kid is just a better driver. I would have picked the 99-00 SI to beat a base RSX, maybe not by much but still beat it. Props to your son for being a good driver.
Sorry about the base RSX....I wouldn't get any RSX unless it was Type S or you were planning on FI.

LOL good call, duh.
1) We didnt feel like relocating the battery to the trunk, and we felt the best thing to do was to build a bracket to hold the battery off the firewall. it normally goes up front and the intake kinda curls behind towards the header, we mad an intake that goes str8 own towards the front side of the transmission, and place the battery against the firewall.
2) I have read some sites and they said pretty much taht AC and PS could not be kept. we fabricated and extended some lines and it all fit perfectly.
3) I would have LOVED for this to be a Type S or K20A DC5R swap, but the customer just didnt have the money. It all started cause he had blown his automatic tranny up, and he called us saying the cheapest he cold find someone to fix his transmission was $2500, i told him JOKINGLY for double that i could do a K20 swap, he said "lets do it" lol. (kid is only 17)
4) i dont particularly like the body kit, but the car is VERY clean and I love the Racing Hart wheels personally.
5) Hasport Mount Kit , customer didnt have the money to afford the Hasport Wiring Kit or the Hasport Axels, so we worked with his budget and did all the wiring by purchasing two manuals (RSX and Civic) from Helms and swapping pins around. We had to take the ECU to ACURA to get the immobilizer removed and that was it.
thanks for the nice comments

RSX 5spd runs low 16.1- 16.3
EP3 shares RSX motor and runs 15.8-16.0
EM1 runs 15.6-15.8.
I'd say the guys friend who beat the em1 in the rsx raced a inexperience driver but non the less a win is a win.
