Default Installing security system in 2002 Accord

I am going to install a security system in my honda this weekend....and was hoping for any secrets to make it easier. Someone told me to use flat bladed screwdrivers and wrap them with tape to not scratch the plastic to pop the clips out....is that the best way? Any other tips would be appreciated.

It is the honda security system.....bought it online....

Thanks...

As far as using screw drivers to pop off panels I wouldnt recomend it. The have special panel revoval tool or ''panel poppers'' I would recomend finding one of these tool from snap-on, matco, cornwell, or who ever. It may not seem like a big differance but once you own a panel popper youll see what I mean.

I saw a tool at Advance Auto parts, it was call a door panel remover.... was angled towards the end, but the tip was like a inch wide, with a "U" cut in the middle.....

Any auto parts store you know that might carry it?

Thanks...

What MLD said...

You can try the "flathead wrapped in tape" method, but when you break that 50 dollar underdash panel, you'll wish you'd spent the $6 on the correct tool.

Do you have the wiring colors and locations to install the system?

**Edit for simultaneous post... Yes, that's the correct tool.

**Second edit for me not reading first post... Never mind about wiring colors etc. Your system should plug right in.

Thanks....I def. want to get the tool...That was one of my concerns, breaking a panel.....I figured there was a tool, just wasn't sure. It is a metal tool?

The security system has the wiring harnes, installation manual, owners manual, everything to install it. It doesn't look too difficult, just take my time and do it. The main thing was removing the panels and clips.....at least that is what it looks like.
