I am going to try again today to get the thing to seal up. (only second try) i don't think the manifold is warped. Last time i put Tack and Seal on both sides of the gasket. I am going to not use any sealant and just just the gasket i think that will fix my problem. I just didn't know if anyone has done this before or not.

Stock D16Y8 manifold on a Stock D16Y8 head

Sprayed carb cleaner on top of intake manifold while running and the motor bogged and sputtered, so i know it is a IM leak. Loud as hell whistling at sertain Throttle position while accelerating. Surging Idle from computer not being able to control or bring the idle down. Does this sound right to everyone else. ???

you scraped all the old gasket crud off the manifold and the head right? also are you alternating drivers side and passengers side bolts when tightening them down so that it goes on nice and even?

 

yeah i had it all clean and tightned the bols down in the correct sequence. Honda had given me the wrong gasket i believe, and I don't beleive that those gaskets require anykind sealant.
