component speakers?
I need to replace all my speakers in my 95 civic, i dont want a sub, so my question is which are the best component speakers for my car. I was leaning toward infinity based on how my friends sound in his nissan, but i need more opinion. much help is appreciated.

Infinities are okay components, but not the best for the money, IMHO. I run them. They get respectable bass in my car - better than they did in the store display - but that's because of the installation. If you want to get bass from your doors, use sound deadening material (Dynamat basically). Get it cheaper from http://www.b-quiet.com or http://www.edesignaudio.com.
If you get component speakers, you will have to mount the outboard crossovers somewhere and run the wires to them. It can be a big pain to install it all but it's worth it if you're going for sound quality.

Edit: Pop some music with snare drum beats, or other loud high treble, into your friend's Nissan and turn it up, and see if the highs aren't too shrill for you.

If you have the money go for the Kappa Perfects, they are a bit pricey, but a very nice speaker system. I love my set, and what is great about them is they feature adjustable crossovers so you can brigthen or deaden the sound they produce. If it is to bright for you, which is what Infiniti's are known for.
You can stash the crossover inside the door on the Civic. Installing them can take about 2 hours and an extra hand will come in handy, because each speaker weighs 7lbs. The cone on the mid-woofer is actually made out of aluminum, so you CAN NOT put any pressure of the speaker cone itself because you can dimple or even puncture the speaker very easliy.
I'd also recommend getting a nice 2-channel to run them because your headunit does not give off enough power for the speakers to operate at maximum efficency.
