Question about interior
I understand this is a car tech forum, so im gonna just take a chance and take a long shot here..
I have been painting my interor for a few weeks (been taking my time) and i have came across the side door panels so they were next. I live in texas so its so damn hott in the day, i usually paint at night. Anyways i painted the side door panels the colors i wanted and let them dry over night (well until like 6 or 7 am) i put them in my car and got everything good and going went back to bed and woke up around 12 or so.. again i live in texas and its hot as hell out side during the day. I got up opened my door and foudn out that the spray paint i used has became sticky, liek it never dried.
I used Fusion Spray paint thats for anything from wood to vynle.. to plastic to metal. It says to let dry for 15 mins to an hour.. Hell i let it dry for 4.
Anyways my question is, is there anyway to fix it from being sticky at all? or did i do somethign wrong. Hope someoen can help , or links to help
i have a 97 se accord (why does that matter with this question? hell beats me, mabey diffrent type of interor stuff i guess)
i did not know that paint was for fabric, and if you are having problems with that being sticky, then its b/c you should of dyed it not painted it.

at night its like 75, its the ideal temp for paint (well thast what it says on the can)

However i didnt know they had dye, mabey ic an check into that.. But i kinda didnt want to have to start all over so im kinda looking for ways to cure it

Did you spary some clear on it? A friend painted his interior and did a really good job. He said he used normal 200 degress engine paint for the clear coat and it still was sticky as it got so hot so he had to spray a clear coat of 500 degree's engine paint.
hmm i will have to check into that then. so 500 degree engine clear coat paint will stick to the vinyle then? alos do u just go to autozone for that kind of clear coat?

I don't know where he got it I will try to ask him sometime he isn't on his computer now though. I'm pretty sure 500 degree paint was what he was telling me he used as the one rated at 200 degrees stuck to him. His turned out really nice looking and you can't really tell it isn't original. I don't know where he got it but I strongly suspect Autozone type place or Wal-Mart or something like that.
