Default AUTO TO MANUAL CONVERSION ANd LS TO GSR SWAP...

Well finally got started on the conversion and swap...from my wrecked GSR To my Auto LS...
AM going to write up w/ pics another DIY...
Well first off i dropped the engine and tranny out of both of them...

Then i removed the Hydraulic clutch lines from the DB8 and installed them on the LS.
And honda was so gracious enough to already put the hole for the slave cylinder and resevoir in the auto ls firewall

And here is the slave cylinder and resevoir going in..

I decided to go ahead and take a stab at removing the bracket that holds the manual shifter in the tunnel... First you drill out the spot welds, then get a heat gun and put just a little bit of heat on it...And with a little elbow grease...

Well take a look...

Here you can see i tried to pry it up and chizel it off didn't work ...I went ahead and drilled them all out..

Here is a picture of the auto ls's shifter hole...

Here i have the bracket out and am fitting it into the LS's auto hole...(sorry forgot to get more pics got involved with getting it out)

Here is the bracket fitted in the whole with a little persuasion..I bumper one side of the auto hole with a hammer and the bracket popped right in and the front two holes lined right up...

WEll that is about it for now..maybe we can put this up as a DIY..HOw TO...

OH yea here is a nice piece that was included in the extra parts that i got with the car...

Nice write-up so far. What are you going to do about the gauge cluster? Are you going to strip the whole gsr interior harness and put it in the auto ls?

NO probably not strip the whole harness but that would be nice...I am switching the guage clusters... I wish i had the time to switch the interior harness...THat would be a whole lot better...

So a five speed gauge cluster such as a 94 stock 5 speed gsr will just plug right up to the ls auto harness?

That is a good question i would think so ...I don't know what would stop it..Both of the cars i am using Donor and project are OBD-1 so i don't think i should have a problem ..If you know of something let me know...

The cluster should work fine, it does in Civics. You could even just leave the LS one there.. the only thing thats slightly bothersome is the gauge selector on the cluster will still be there obviously which is kind of ugly, but who cares...

Sounds good!!How about the engine harness are you going to use the stock 94 gsr harness and just pluging it into the ls body harness or you going to use the ls harness and rewire it for vtec, etc.

Okay tonight I i took a look at the cruise control modules and I haven't seen much on these thought maybe this might be the problem i have seen in other threads about the cruise control not working after the conversion ....hence one says a/t cruise control module p75 A/T...And obviously the other says MT P72 cruise control module...anyone have any other info on these.

Okay well decided to go ahead and take out the brake and gas pedal from the GSR ...ANd let me tell you either i did it wrong or everyone else just hasn't mentioned how much of a bitch it is...well for anyone wanting a slightly easier way to get it out because it isn't coming out all in one piece with the pedals still attached...here is a pic of the pins that have to be removed, to get it out from underneath the dash...and also the cotter pins have to be taken out first..

Okay well next on the agenda while I have some time to spare, is the issue of the two plugs on the clutch pedal assembly... ONe is for the ignition and the other i believe is for the cruise control well here is a pic of the one for the cruise it is the same color as the one in the M/T its just that it goes to a connector the plugs into the auto tranny well I thought i would just go ahead and remove the pink wire and pin and splice them on to my plug for the clutch pedal assembly...

BTW it is the pink wire on the left side of the plug that you can see... THis wire will be removed and spliced into the wire assembly for the plug for the clutch pedal..which i am hoping will take care of my cruise control...

Hey tegrevboy, I was wondering how you did the wiring for the vtec? Could you use existing wires that were used for "automatic" for wiring in the vtec by moving them around to correspond with the engine?
