Rear wheel bearings (another bloody knuckle weekend)
Well, WGI was a fun weekend, but I got cut short by wheel bearings. Drat! Well, if it wasn't that, it would have been something else. It seems to be high on my "spares to carry" list, along with a dizzy. I'd be better off with an entire Parts Car, but that'll have to wait.
My right rear wheel bearing is in bad shape (loud whirring noise, 1/8th inch of play when I grab the wheel top and bottom.
Anyone had to replace these before? A couple people mentioned it's pretty easy, #2 in the diagram below. I don't know how many people have had this failure, my car only has like 60K miles.

willard has made a thread with pictures and what he did to replace the front wheel bearings...
i know if one had to take this into a honda shop to fix, they would just replace the entire wheel hub...which is i think the #2 that chris F is pointing to
I havent replaced a rear wheel bearing yet myself...and from the looks of things, it looks like its not that difficult...just bit more expensive than replacing the bearing alone (as in, the front)

Right... It's the whole assembly, and I have 2 in the mail (for better or worse).
This one will be easy, no presses involved.

This is such an easy job. My best time is 8 minutes from removing the wheel to putting the wheel back on. Helpful tip. Put the parking brake on real tight, and then just remove the caliper/disk/caliper bracket all off together (after removing the rotor screws) saves having to undo the caliper slider bolts and removing the pads.
And yes, I am dead serious about the 8 minutes.
