"...own more than a 600 you're making up for something"
I was talking to some guys today, and they were "stunters" (I guess thats what they are called), and said "If you own anything bigger than a 600cc, you're making up for something." I think it's just because his bike was a piece of ****. I was just wondering what your opinion on that statement was. He had a ragged out, GXSR600...
Yeah, making up for the lack of power of a 600cc bike
Not saying they lack power, but dont you get a litre bike for more power?

You can stunt any model supersport bike very well. Gear it for lower power and it just makes it easier just like having a larger motor. Some people like the balance of 600's better.

No not really...954's are common stunt bikes because they also have the shortest wheelbase of any bike out there, also makes them wheelie machines...plus I believe they were the first production bike to have 4 piston calipers? making them excellent stoppies machines as well.
more CC's do mean more "torque" for wheelies but they also mean more weight and of course a bigger bike all together, alot of stunters that ride 600's have them geared something fierce, like +6 in rear or +3 up from -2 in back...
As for compensating for something, It depends on the rider really, and riding style they have...Ive met MANY guys who ride 1000's because they "wheelie good in first gear" they don't even know the bike can wheelie in 2nd, 3rd and even 4th if you know what your doing. Its commonly refered to as squidish when you buy a bigger bike to pretend your a better rider, so you can go faster than 600's in the straights.

He might mean six, although I think Suzuki did that on the WP Gixxer. My RG250 from 85 had 4 piston calipers, they were fxcking useless as well

600cc vs 1000cc..... yes the 600 cc is a smaller, less power bike when compared with a 1000cc. But that doesnt always mean that it is a slower bike though. on Speed TV they raced a 600 vs a 1000 on a race track. And at the end the 600 won but it wasnt by much. forgot the particular model of the bikes but the generalization was that. Yes the 1000cc bike is much more faster and has more power. But when pushing the bikes to their limits. the 600 came out on top. Reason being? the 1000cc bike is a heavier and can not carry their speed and momentum into the corners. Where as the 600 was able to carry more entry and exit speed. Also the 600 is more nimble than the 1000......
so yah haha i dont know what im rambling about..... yay for the 600 class
