Default Questions about alignment on a race car

Should this be done with the ride height set to where its going to be race at? Also on slicks or normal street tires? Any help or recomendations would be apreciated.

Thanks Poya

i had my alignment done on street tires and it wasnt at ride hieght. i dont like how high it is, but the camber and caster is fine. so i may have to take my car back and get the spindles bent again with the car at race hieght. i would like my car to sit a few inches lower in the front.

in my opinion, yes. mine wasnt and it sits a little high. i went to an alignment shop that has done race cars before. as long as they can get the camber/caster.....toe in/out to be perfect, then im sure any alignment shop would be able to do it.

If your going to pay someone to do an alignment then set everything up how you would race it. No pont in going twice just because ride height was changed. Alignment WILL change when ride height is changed.

Well we are getting it done for free but still...So everything will be set to race. Should we put it on slicks also?

You want the car to sit as it is going down the track. So think ride, height, lift if any, air pressure, tire size, weight, etc.

There's alot that goes into a GOOD alignment.

Yes you should put the exact weight of the driver plus any equipment weight inside the car as needed. If you are on traction bars keep in mind it will limit front end lift so account for that as well.
