what I learned at the alignment shop!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well my alignment on my car was overdue so I decide that I should do it asap. So I when to a shop where they specialize in lowered cars. The tech look at my car is said that it was so clean looking and he really liked it. So we start talking and he tells me my alignment is way off. So he start talking and I asked him to explain to me what he was going to do.
So he tells me well since you have a nice setup ( neuspeed race and tokico shocks) we are going to give it a little more positive toe in the front. He also explained that FWD have a tendency under acceleration to bring the tire together such as creating more positive toe. He also said that most lowered cars have more negative toe because of their suspension. So he told me he would give me a little more positive toe for better highway stability. He also said that it wouldn't affect my handling that much. He continued on by also giving me a little more negative camber he said it was to compensate for the extra toe. He also gave me a spec sheet with what he did. I will post it later. I also questioned him about the computer. The computer shows a graph with red and green. When the needle points green its the sweet spot and red being the no no. He told me that I shouldn't really worry about that because that would be for a stock setting. He said it depends how you look at it because sometimes red could be good too. He said that he use to be a mech. for a F2000 team so being in the red was always good.
All in all I learned something that was probably explain many times but it was just easier for me to understand it coming from this tech. I decide to write about it to make others understand a little easier. Hope this help.
PS: Ill post my specs after.

I understand a lil negative camber. A lot of sports cars stock have some camber. But someone fill me in on the toe and how that would benefit the car. I always thought no toe is what you want.

Re: (GRIP KING)
well the thing is that when due to having a lower suspension it cause the front tires to have negative toe. So the tech put the toe to a stock spec and then he just add a little more positive toe because he said it would help for high speed stability and I do alot of highway driving so he said it would help. Also negative give a little more stability on handling but he said due that having a bit of negative camber it would balance out for me.
Sorry guys I wont be able to go and get my spec sheet because my boss just asked me to do some work( actually his work lazy ***) so ill post it tonight promise.

Toe controls the direction of the tires that they face. I dont see how anything other then 0 is beneifiting you.
Camber, you might want a little negiative in drag racing because your car lifts and the tires will set themself to 0 with the lift. But still 0 is better for daily driving.
Not saying that guy didnt know what he was talking about but everyone has a different idea of what an ideal alignment is, and every car is different.

what the tech did on your car does help in handling and control(toe&camber).
so technically, the tech is right, BUT thats good for road coarses, not daily driving.

It also helps in cornering as well, since the wheel tends to straighten out as you corner.

Yup. Involves some tucking and some jamming, but it's adjustable...lol.

Lowering your car should affect the camber more than anything else. As far as toe... I still don't see how it is beneficial. Never heard of that.

He gave you a little negative camber on a lowered Honda? They usually have too much as it is.

Camber effects toe, but toe doesn't effect camber. That is the relationship.

Just curious... how did he adjust your camber? do you have a camber kit? if not, stock hondas aren't adjustable.

did you go to the most out of the way redneck shadetree shop that you could find, wow he set you with some toe thats way stupid unless your in the rear wheels you always want to zero your toe to set with your trust angle, and apparently you have a camber kit or he wouldnt be adjusting your camber, and as far as stability and steering wheel return is concernend toe has nothing to do with this, the monkey that you had he probly thought hehe i can tell him whatever i want and he'll believe me, stabilty and return comes from caster or SAI which is what most front wheel drive cars have, and im not gonna sit here and explain either one i dont have the patience, post your spec sheet and i will explain to you what he didnt and how you can make your car handle like a corvette and drive like a race-car. if you want i will scan my level 2 alignment certificate from Hunter Engineering where i specialized in aftermarket suspenisions, and performance alignments

QUOTE"Toe can also be used to alter a vehicle's handling traits. Increased toe-in will typically result in reduced oversteer, help steady the car and enhance high-speed stability. Increased toe-out will typically result in reduced understeer, helping free up the car, especially during initial turn-in while entering a corner "QUOTE
