Starter thread stripped inside tranny
which hole stripped? For a while, I was running only 1 bolt ont he starter. It worked fine with no problems. you can also rethread it or a helicoil.
I'm having the exact problem as above. Mine is in an Integra, but since this thread is already here, I thought I'd just jack it
The threads inside the block for the longer of the 2 starter bolts is stripped. It's weird because it was fine, I pulled the bolt out to put some anti-seize on it, and now it's stripped.
Also kind of odd is the fact that it threads in until the head like normal, just won't get real tight. I wonder how many threads are left. Anyway, should I try to re-tap this? Is it even possible without pulling the tranny off? Thinking about using some locktite on this bolt and just run the shorter bolt tighter...
Any help would be appreciated - preferably a fix without pulling the tranny again, I just pulled it on & off twice already in 2 days.

While it is conceivable to rethread with the tranny installed it does not seem practical. One of the bolts is really long, I don't know if they make rethread tools longer than those bolts.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

What size/pitch? You'd be surprised how long of taps you can buy.

about a year
I do want to fix it, because you really don't want to have a bolt be a single point of failure someday, so it would be nice to fix.

the long bolt for the starter, this bolt threads into the block, if this one is striped you have to remove the tranny to re-tap it. the smaller bolt can be re-taped with the tranny still on the block.
