Default Antenna plug cut off. Possible to recrimp the antenna plug?

The antenna plug on my car (honda prelude) was cut off. So right now I cannot connect the antenna to the back of the radio. Is it possible to buy a new plug and crimp it on the original cable.

If so, where would i be able to find the plug and the crimping tool?

I'd like to avoid buying a new cable if at all possible.

You can get the plug at RadioShack, http://www.radioshack.com/prod...4-709 you can also probably get them at any car audio/install shop, I stock them in my shop, for when we have an insurance claim, [where some numb-nut has just cut all the wires] it is called a Motorola ant. end/plug the ones I carry have to be soldered on both the inside "mast" lead and the outside shield/ground braid, a solder connection would be better, even if it was just the inside "mast" lead 94

So there isn't any type of crimper that you can buy and use? Would twisting and soldering the braid cause any noise?

What kind of car? It could be possible all you would have to do is buy a 24" antenna extension and run it from a break in the antenna. If it a civic the antenna from the runs from the roof, through the a-pillar, and then plugs into another extension in the driver's kickpanel. All you would have to do is replace the antenna from the kick to the radio.

if the antenna is in the rear there should be a plug at the rear you can unplug and run a new antenna extension. If its in the front or like my car in the pillar (92-95 civic) you can just get a whole new antenna for like $25 and it only takes a few min to install it or best buy does it for like $30

You can definately twist/solder the connections. There should be one single copper wire in the middle surrounded by some insulation connect that to the other end of the single wire, solder, tape up. Then do the same with the wires that wrap around the white insulation, the ground wires. Just make sure they do not touch the single wire in the middle. Solder and use good electrical tape.
