Default JDM ITR Question with PICS

i removed my exhaust and cat. from my car to sell...and i left the header and O2 sensor plugged in. But there was another sensor that looks like an O2 that was at the back of the cat. and wen i start the car, because this sensor is not plugged into anythin, it shows me that symbol on my gauge cluster...Any ideas about wat this is exactly? i havent seen it an a usdm ITR wen i looked at my buddies, so im wonderin wat it is on the jdm ones.

Thanks!

you can get rid of the light by earthing the wire to the body, but when i did that recently i dont think the car ran as well, so i put on a different d-cat with the sensor in place & fine now

yea i noticed it ran like **** after like 7000rpms, as if it were breathless...so i will have to connect it back up, as there is no real way of bypassin this, right?

i'm not sure of the implications of not using the sensor, personally i preffered it in, it'd be easy enough to drill/weld into a d-cat

My 2000 does not have that sensor , even when I had a 1999 JDM Toyota Glanza it didn`t have it ! And the ones that I saw that they were 96 and 97 they had that sensor after the cat !! It think it has something to do with polution control since it`s after the cat and the later cars don`t have it !

As everyone suggested , it`s a better idea to put it back in. even if you are going to remove the cat just modify the test pipe/de-cat with a bung that fit the sensor and put it back in !

Sorry, Im not trying to take over the post, if you run a test pipe and make a bung for the o2 sensor, do you still get a check engine light?

heh yeah I pretty much did take your post but atleast you wanted to know the same thing, I found out you can get a fix which is on another post created by Bbasso or I believe if you just make the bung you won't have the prob. I just don't feel like switchin to obd-1.
