Default go ahead and call me names, intake question

i bought an ebay intake (one with 2 pipe pieces) and it's supposed to be "cold air" but i didn't think that the pipe woudl protrude underneath the fender as well as the filter. am I supposed to cut off some of the pipe? "s" pipe and then "J" pipe right? and what the **** is the bracket thing for?

go ahead and call me dumb but some intakes advertised as "cold air" still don't locate the filter in the fender..

i'm sure I coudl figure it out but the motor isn't in the car now.

Umm, Dude...It comes the way it is supposed to be. YES.....THE PIPING WILL GO DOWN ALONG WITH THE FILTER...DOWN! Unless you bought plumbing pipes, you wont have to cut anything. The brackets hold things in place...

You do mean like this right?

You're dumb.

And yeah, its supposed to go into the fender well, because that's where you get the colder air from. Personally, I thought it was too much of a pain in the ***, which is why I got a SRI.

Yes you are dumb..Where are you going to get the cold air from??

There should be a spot to bolt your intake to near where it would go down into the fender where the stock box bolts to. Thats only spot that I can think of since that is where mine bolts to.

There should be a harness near the bend that U can use for the bracket, then, get a hammer & make that pipe fit into that lil' hole!

*points at MrLude* I know that guy!
<- AzureVTEC. Hehe...

Oh yeah, you're dumb. Or whatever. CAI (cold air intake) = down in the fender. SRI (short ram intake) = engine bay.

set up the intake the way its supposed to...^^^^^^^^^^^following this link. and ur gonna see that the bracket is gonna line up with one and only one hole, thats where it connects to. unless whoever made the intake is just as dumb as u and put that in the wrong spot.

i know what a codl air and short ram is. i don't have down syndrome.. SOME ebay style "cold air" locate the filter in the oem spot. it's longer than some short ram intakes i see. and asking about weather the pipe goes into the fender, i didn't know if the pipe was supposed to stop as it entered and the rebber part of the filter was right beneath the hole.

I also have a "2 piece Ebay intake".

It goes into the fender, (but I had to bend the hole a bit to make the pipe go through). Don't cut anything

I didn't use the mounting brackets, as there was on place on the intake that they would attach to (as far as I could figure out). The intake sits very tight, so I didn't really bother investigating the odd issue.

well, if u knew the difference between a CAI and a SRI then u would know that the ebay CAI that located in the stock location r actually SRI, and the seller either a)doesnt know **** or b) is misleading people just because some people think CAIs r better and they r more expensive anyway, so he can make more off of it. unless the ebay CAI has a cold air box, or heat sheild that is keeping the warm air out, it is just a SRI.
