Slicks and wheels for K24/K20A drag EG
I would like some advice on slicks and wheels for my K-series drag EG that's in progress. It will be with a K24/K20A race engine so I hoping for around 320 whp. I planned of using a 6 speed CTR tranny but might look into a 5 speed Si if it will be a better match. What kind of slicks should I look into? I thinking about M&H 26x8.5x13" but don't know if it will keep me in 4. gear with a rev limit around 8500. Anyone got some experience with K-series setups they want to share? Regarding wheels I'm thinking about 13x9 Weld Magnum with what kind of offset?
No personal K series/EG experience but, The 26" will be major overkill I can say that. There is an 11 sec. NA K20/EG on here running 24.5's. Try to locate him to elaborate on some better ideas. I don't know his username off hand though.

when running slicks you want to run a smaller rim . ie if running a 8" slick run a 7" rim ..
so the sidewall is soft and has some play... you can ask M&H ...

Well I will be making a lot more Hp than Hondog and I'm sure his rev limit is higher than 8500 RPM. That's why I'm thinking about 26". What slicks size are Skunk2 and Norris running?

I looked at going up to a 25 or even 26" slick, even with 300whp in the near future I think I'd rather use more gears anyway. At the moment I'm running the line in 5th. on the 24.5" I managed 112mph on the JDM trans in 4th at 9000 with. if your hoping to get closer to 320whp you will be better with the USDM trans or like you say the 5spd. I think jumping on a slick size this early isn't a wise choice you'll need to try different sizes to find what works best for yo and the track you run on the most.
I have tried with a gear calc and even with 26" I don't think I can keep it in 4. gear with a euro CTR tranny. I will look into the 5 speed instead.

i have heard a couple guys with teh 2.4's saying how they wished they would have gone with the 5 spd...
Or you can just buy some gears from the dealer and make your own combination...
Euro CTR is just the K20a2 right? no LSD and no short gears?

Yeah it's just a K20A2 engine and the tranny has no LSD. The Si tranny is also a lot cheaper so I think I will go with that. I can might even use my 22x8x13" M&H slicks with a 5 speed.

Stock JDM Trans, 9000rpm Shift Points, 23x8x13 willl keep you in 4th.
That's with stock Horsepower tho...It really depends on your power. I woudn't go any larger than 25 tho... Thy cause alot of drag.
