Default header question(hytech, toda, smsp)

i know this is beat to hell, ive read a **** load on this, my car came with SMSP headers but they are shot, they leak at all the seams. everyone tells me to keep the smsp exhaust but i did some reading and saw a write up about hytech and how its so great blah blah(ra$ed to the 5th)

now my delema,
i bought a fujitsubo rm01a cat back(i have this exhaust for my subaru and i love it)

i have a b18c5 with toda Bs and hondada
i want to run a header with resonator to the cat back, im leaning toward hytech but my delema, where the hell is there phone number?? i searched and searched "hytech phone number"

also, if anyone feels i shouldnt get a hytech header and should get smsp or toda post up... to be honest i can get the toda for cheap, but i want to have room where if i decide to build a motor ill beable to keep whatever exhaust i buy now..

Dave from SMSP can set you up. The Toda is a great manifold, but Dave's will outperform it in your motor configuration, and outperform the Hytech also

Just get the header sand blasted and have it welded into a 1 piece, then get it coated.

Wow, I've never heard a foul word ever spoken about an SMSP product. Has the poor header been repeatedly bottomed out? Hard to believe it would fall apart on its own. Not calling you a liar, just curious about how an SMSP header's welds would fail.

oh, to make it clear why its probably leaking...

it has been bottomed out a few times hard, not as bad as ive seen others, but im sure it didnt help..

thats why i am considering getting another smsp, because the quality is great, but the one that is on my car has been alittle banged up

I think what he meant about the leaks is the fact that the header is a multi piece units so there are slip joints and evidently after repeated bangs the slips joints are probably leaking.

I ran a toda for about a year and loved it. Had great ground clearance with it aswell. And ive see some great power out of the hytech. If you search theres quite a bit of threds that have Header tests.

RMF narrow and I THINK TODA are AC compatible. Last I checked the SMSP header wasn't compatible with AC and needed a custom oil pan.

Oh, and leaks are bound to happen eventually with an uncoated mild steel setup. I think thats why Randy and all the other header guru's moved to coated and stainless.

All my headers clear the stock oil pan, A/C an P/S on the B, D and H series Hondas. I do have a version for a big B series header that can be used with a custom built Moroso or Z10 oil pan that provides the same ground clearance as the B18C1 headers. However, if the customer doesn't have A/C and P/S we sometimes change the layout a tad.

Ah, gotcha dave. I must have been looking at the 2 liter header or something. Not trying to spread bad info.

Yeah fix it or get another one.Or do what ever you have to do.But I don't think you would be happy with a Hy-Tech for sure.Mine leaked and didn't make as much power as a DC ITR header
