Ok, So i was putting a radio in a buddies car, whom also has a HACKJOB of an alarm install, so there's wires hanging, flowing all around so Its kind of a mess. But anyways, after the install of the radio, when you turn it on, it comes on for a split second, and turns off again, then on again for a split second, then off again...thats all it does.

What could this be? The fuse is fine obviously since it gets power in the first place. If it was a ground problem, it wouldnt be going on at all. And if it was a loose wire, i would expect it to stay on untill you moved it around, or hit a bump..etc. Other than that...im stumped.

It could be a poor connection, enough to turn on but not keep it on, it could be a short in the speaker or speaker leads or miswired speaker outputs, unit turns on, "sees" short/miswire" turns off. Check wiring, if any of the alarm is connected to the oem radio harness, http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf remove it, [it should not be there] and rewire the HU, see if it works. 94

 

I was thinking the exact same thing. When i first hooked it up, the radio would turn on and everything, but the sound wasnt coming out of the front speakers. I found there to be loose wires since the *** used electrical tape on the speaker leads. redid that and things were great. Turned it off for a few, smoked a cigarette and turned it back on.

Thats when it went off/on, off/on, off/on so i was like WTF, **** worked a minute ago.

So i'll just recheck everything and i should hopefully be good. How i never found that installdoctor page i'll never know, but i spent about 2 hours on there just browsin around, its a great site. Thanks for the link man, and your help.
