H22A v. H22AS
ok ive heard of the H22AS is it alot better than the H22A4 97-01 ludes if so by how much and would it be worth it to buy one...lets say if your engine kind uuhhh ya know blew...=/
cmon, we all know he's talking about the Type S h22a so don't be a dick.
it has no actual code differentiation that i've ever heard of though..
do a little searching; the Type S motor has a more aggressive cam profile, higher compression pistons and some other cute little japanese baubles.
oh and to answer your question, it's been discussed a few times and the $4500 (give or take) you spend on the motor/tranny combo for the Type S would be better spent on building a $2200 h22a/1 with much more power n/a.
dunno what year you've got but if you're OBD I, its much more convenient than having to convert to OBD II for the swap. i hope that helps.

Although the SiR S-spec, with the same internals, isn't.
The point about it costing less to build up a H22a/a1/a4 to Type-S standards and beyond is still true though.
