depends what you wanna do....i didn't know the H22 fit in the newer accord

if he has a V6 Accord, and you wanna go to a 4Cyl don't you see the problem? go find a CL engine or something,

Better for what specifically? To pass emissions or performance? F23a1 and F23a4 (ULEV) are the stock 4-cyl for the LX and EX for 6th gens.

H22a is about 200hp 161tq at crank
F23a1 is about 150hp 152tq at crank

Get the F23 Block from the LX. Stock HP for this motor is 150 and respectivley 152 TQ. F23 is tourqe monster. However if you put an h23 head, from prelude si then you bump up performance from single to dual cam. I'll try to find the link, but there's this guy Pirate who just did his prelude with this set up and he has a step by step write up. I'll get back to you. I think his dyno pull was about 180 HP at the wheels and only 400 to 800 dollars to get all the parts. Thats a steal. Emmissions is a little sketchy though. Half think that it will pass and half dont. If the smog guy is good then he's gonna notice that you have a dual cam and not a single cam but then again. Swapping out a head and ecu ect. isn't completley unreasonable every two years.

Everyone's telling you what to do but the real important question here is:

Why switch from the 6 cylinder to the 4?

And I know the body styling is different, so are you sure that the mounting points for a 4 are there, or is it a wider bay and it's not going to fit?

Tell him to go to V6P.net and search the performance section. He can do a J32 swap w/ 6spd. It's more work than what it's worth performance wise for him to switch to the 4cyl.

6th gen body is the same for v6 or i4 I'm 99.9% certain - different mounts of course.

the j32 swap is more $$$ than it's worth IMO.
