92-96 4th Gen. Climate Control Fix Write-Up. HVAC
Disclaimer:
If you are too stupid to take responsibility for your own actions you should never attempt to repair your car. This write up is just what I did. You shouldn’t do the same because it will destroy your car, make you stupid and ruin your life.
1. remove the climate control unit. (three screws and disconnect the hot/cold selector cable and unplug two harnesses)

2. Remove two screws (black) from the back of the assembly.
3. Slide out switch assembly from the vents.
4. Pry up the slider *****. Put in safe place, like mouth.

5. Remove two gold/sliver screws from side of unit.

6. Remove front of switch panel from the main part of unit.

7. Remove the rear defroster light(just unscrew).

8. Slide out the circuit board from the black plastic housing. Do this by gently pushing the green plug towards the opening.

9. Now examine the circuit board near the green harness. You should notice some broken solder points.

10. If you suck at soldering such as myself you should have someone else do it for you. I suggest a TV repair person. They should be able to do it in about 5-10 minutes. It shouldn’t cost you more than $15-$20. If you are ghetto you can do as I did and DIY.
11. Reassemble. And reinstall.
It takes about an hour with no directions. I didn’t see the preludeonline.com write up but its nothing too hard that a half-wit like me couldn’t figure it out myself. You should do the same (figure it out).
Good Luck.
