Can the steering shaft be turned without turning the wheels?
Is there anyway to disconnect the steering shaft so it can be turned without turning the front tie rods? My car is 4WS and the front steering sensor is off just enough to make rear wheels think the car has a slight turn. I need to rotate the front steering sensor paint mark, thus the shaft also, just a short distance to put the front sensor back into neutral.
So is there a way to disconnect the shaft from the front tie rods and allow is to move freely? If so, how difficult is this to do?

Disconnect the input shaft from the steering column........there ya go - and plug it back in when you have it where you want it.
There's no way to disconnect the input shaft from the tie rods because its part of the gear box - but you should be able to remove the input shaft from the steering column - kinda like removing the gear box......
