97' Civic stock exhaust question - Honda bolts must be designed to break
I must admit, I don't read the Civic forum often, but I have a question that I didn't find by searching.
97' Civic EX, 2dr coupe, 5sp, 90k
I was replacing the axel back section of the stock exhaust and both OEM spring bolts snapped in the same place. They broke about 1/8th" inside the flange on the b-pipe. I tried to get them out on the back side with visegrips and then grinding 2 flat edges to get a better grip. Well needless to say it snapped about 1/4" more off the back.
Is there a magic trick to removing them or is the ol drill and tap the only way?
