intermediate shaft strength
Anyone know how strong an intermediate shaft is. I plan on putting at least 400 horses on the ground. Am I overreacting, or can a stock intermediate shaft handle the abuse. I am going to be running a quaife LSD, and driveshaft shop's level 3 550hp axles. I want a bullet proof drivetrain. I don't particularly like sitting on the side of the road, or fixing a car in a gas station parking lot.
Thanks guys, I appreciate your help/info...

He's talking about the intermediate shaft, not the axles.
I also have not heard of the intermediate shaft breaking. I also believe that the transmission itself will fail before the shaft does.

Yeah don't worry about the shaft, it's just a solid steel bar in a huge roller bearing.
I've never even heard of aftermarket intermediate shafts, but yet you have all those 600+hp drag Hondas running 10's, 9's, and faster.
