car stats: 2001 type r - turboed, tuned on hondata on stock internals.

whats up, havent been on here for a while, but today i stopped by my friends shop on my way home from work to have him check out my car, he said my valves are messed up because when my car is idling it sorta makes a popping noise. he held his hand up to the tip of my exhaust and it woudl sorta suck in his hand then let go, i tried it as well it was pretty weird, the engine was sorta pulling air back into the exhaust instead of a constant flowing out. anyone else ever experience something like this?

also the past 2 weeks while idling id have some white smoke coming out of my car, only somedays though, other days it runs fine. my coolant level has not changed though, so i dont know how this could be my headgasket? well if anyone could help out alittle it would be great, thanks.
