Default Zero MPH on Interstate

Ok so I'm goin to NOPI saturday and I look down at the speedo and it says 0 and the cel is on. Get home and pull the codes and it says P0500 Speed Sensor A Malfunction. Could anyone elaborate on which sensor this is and a possible location. Helms manual hasn't come in yet. Thanks

its located just under the intake on the transmission near the rear motor mount. It should eb held in with one 10mm bolt. very easy to get to and easy to replace. hope that helps.

I would check you ground by the thermostat housing before replacing it.

you can also fill up the tranny oil on thru the VSS, (vehicle speed sensor) for future references

but if u do it that way make sure to measure how much u drained! goodluck getting rid of that CEL

or instead of measuring how much you drained, you can open the drain plug, and pour in new fluid through the VSS hole until it starts leaking out the open drain plug

follow the upper radiator hose to the engine and that housing is where the thermostat is. To get the housing off you have to take off a few bolt, and there is a wire being held in place by one of the bolts. Thats your ground.
