By bad mpg ,what do you mean?..25mpg,30mpg?? I have a b16a with some headwork and get around 35-40mpg with a b16 tranny/w ls 5th gearset

Check tires pressure..
air filter
spark plugs
oil change/oil filter
Lucas fuel injector cleaner
Check o2 sensor

I'd also check the distributor to make sure it's clean in there.

convert over to obd2 and run the stock ecu and your gas mileage will improve. you can't expect and obd0 computer to run an obd2 engine 100% correct.

This is it exactly. your o2 sensor MIGHT have something to do with it, but the fact that you're running a obd0 ECU on an obd2 engine will explain around 90% of your mileage problems.

Your engine wasn't built for the ECU you're running. Swap the ECU, get the conversion harness (or get a whole new harness) and wire up vtec properly. I'd say you'd get 25-35 mpg easy.

well man here you go so your saying an obd0 ecu that isnt chipped is goign to run a obd2 engine just fine. That is bull. It may run but it will never run totally correct unchipped and untuned. If its runnign rich in a nother car like rediculoius richi it might be that you wired something wrong. Bump for you non the less.

And when you are throwing codes, it's the first thing to check and replace.

but if I were you, I'd shell out $50 for an obd2 ecu.
