i just got my car checked for allignment and they said the front has neg 2 degree camber ( L and R side) .. i was wondering if i really needed camber kits ? i was just going to get the toe fixed since that seems to be the major cause for uneven tire wear.... does 2 degree require camber kits ? or will it work w/o the camber kit.. i dont want my tires to go bad in 3 months..

2 degrees of negative camber will most definately cause very uneven tire wear.

 

yeah i would say get the kit its about 200$ and will save the tire wear and plus it isnt to hard to put on, how about your backs are they uneven 2?? that is one thing that bothers me the most is driving behind a car with tires that are horrible slanted

 

Also related to camber... does anybody know about the camber kits on ebay? They have some good deals, front and back for around 150 i think.

 

aw rite but i think i am very unfortunate with camber problems.. my frined has lowered all the cars he has every had ... me too but i have had cambers problems since day one.. but on my teg it was neg. 3 deg. ..

he has always had good luck with camber since he has NEVER bought camber kits but his tires seem to last a long time.. he def. get the allignment done.. more over he makes way more hp than i do and he keeps spinning his tires left and right.. but still has tires lasting a very long time.. grrrr im mad !! !

 

I don't think you realize why you have a "camber problem"

Honda Civics have a double wishbone type suspension, with something called "Static Camber". That means that when the suspension is compressed (or lowered) you gain negative camber. That feature is <U></U>very<U></U> good for handling.
I have 2.5f and 1.5r negative camber with 0 toe f and r. My tire wear pretty even because i autocross and the whole tire gets utilized.
If you are only planning on driving in a straight line down the drag strip, get the kit. Just remember that you get what you pay for. Stay away from generic kits.

 

i thought hondas are supposed to have negative camber... like -1 camber(correct me if im wrong).. i dont think -2 camber will wear it down crazy.. toe is what made my tires eat away in 2 weeks.. but i dont think u have anything to worry about just keep an eye on your tires to see if theyre still wearing out fast

Poor quality!!
Bad welds, crappy bushings, or crappy ball joints.

With the civics suspension, you will have a few options. either new adjustable upper control arms, adjustable ball joints, or adjustable lower control arms.

If you do a search you will find that there are plenty of <U></U>good<U></U> companies to got through.

2 degrees is not that bad as long as you have zero toe.
