Default Running rich ?

I have a 98 SH. I have headers, intake and catback exhaust. When I just sit and let my car idle for awhile while standing by it the exhaust smell is REALLY strong. And people often ask me if im burning oil. Others say if their driving behind me that it smells like im running really rich.My check engine light is not on which would come on if the o2 sensor sensed i was runnin really rich/lean right? I have noticed that i do burn some oil which i hear H22s are notorious for. Especially if you hit vtec often. The engine has 117k on it. I am running mobil 1 synthetic. The guy who owned it before me was old and didnt drive it hard. Any ideas on what this smell could be ?

ask those people who are running behind you (they should be used to it) if theres extra exhaust when you shift, probably wouldnt hurt to run some seafoam through her either.

stock oxygen sensors are more for emissions than anything and not necissarily change your fuel curve for power. oxygen sensor over time can loose its accuracy and replacing it can make big differences regardless of whether u are getting a CEL light or code.
