Default Tach revs at idle...

I searched to no avail...

My hatch recently started reving at idle on it's own. It's just a constant rev up to 2 grand then back to idle over and over again. It doesn't do it when i first start the car up, it seems like it has to get warmed up. Anyone experience this?

Thanks guys.

could be your IACV (idle air control valve), its a common problem w/ hondas. screen may be clogged. try cleaning the carbon deposits on the IACV screen. just remove it from the back of the manifiold (2 bolts), disconnect vacuum lines, clean it, put back on and see if it makes a difference

Could be this. However, when it happened on mine, I adjusted my idle adjustment screw on the intake manifold and it fixed it.

a friend of mine had that same problem and he found out it was his o2 sensor. you might want to try that if nothing else works...

it could be all those problems but deepding if your engine is moded with turbo or some sick na setup your car might be running to rich to the ECU at idle revs your car to compensate for the extra fule at idle when it is warmed up

well i took the TB off my car today determind to fix the reving problem, turns out that apiece of my old TB gasket found it was into the orphis to the iacv so i shot it dosn with some TB cleaner and swabbed it with a cotton swab now it all better. and i found that my TB was insanly dirty and i ahd just cleaned it out not even 100 miled ago. So i inspected and found that my airfilter had a rip in the inner linning leaving a hole for all sorts of things to enter my intake, since im broke i just mendid it with some fabric softener sheets till i get paid.
