HELP I GOT SCAMMED!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO???
Hi guys, i'm so furious! Ive been dealing with a guy from Canada for over 8 weeks being led in circles with lies after lies. I should have known better but i really wanted to have faith that he'd come through. I purchased $550 dollars worth of type r parts from him, I cancelled the Pay-Pal after 4 weeks and then he contacted me with "oh i shipped it and i just found out that its been sitting at UPS for two weeks because it was oversized" yeah, right. So we argue back and forth for two weeks, i want him to ship it and then i'll release payment and he wants me to release payment and then he'll ship. Finally we talk on the phone and he convinces me that he'll ship the folowing day that if release payment and give me a tracking number. So i gave it a try and released payment and he tells me its shipped, i email him for the tracking number for a week and finally catch him on the phone and get a number that turns out to be fony. He says he's going to UPS to get to the bottom of it and thats the last i hear from him (week ago!) I start doing some research and find that a month ago he sold the parts to someone else, and write to some of the ebayer's he's done buisness with and they respond that they were scammed aswell. Now i'm furoius! I dont know what to do, anyone who can help me it would be really appreciated, he says his name is Dean West but Kreso thomas and other names have turned up in the process. thanks mat
Damn I feel sorry for you bro. What you should do is buy locally next time unless people here can vouch for another person and they can be trusted.
Damn man....didn't you see it coming???? You said it yourself he said he shipped it then it was on hold and all that time the truth was it wasn't sent yet and he still was in contact with you as you haven't released the payment....
that sux!!!
if you have his phone#, then if you contact the police they may be able to find out who the phone# belongs to.. etc..
its at least something to try.
good luck

Well for starters you and the other people that have gotten it up the **** from this guy should all go to ebay together and get his sorry *** kicked off of ebay to save anyone else. Then you maybe able to file charges with Ebays help and the other people. But atleast go to ebay and get him kicked off. Ebay will also refund you some money, not a huge amount but its better then being spanked out of 500 bucks. Good Luck

thanks guys, i feel like a fool, from the beggining it was kinda weird. But i really needed the parts and i wanted it to work, so i kept trying. His Ebay user name is watercooled1, the only problem with going through ebay is that, i didn't actually buy through ebay, he was selling the whole type r front end and i only needed parts of it, so i waited and no one bid on it so i contacted him after and bought certain pieces, the funny part is that there were small things that made me feel like he was for real, like i offered him a low price for something and he turned me down, if he wasnt going to ship it in the first place why woulnt he take the money? he's in Ontario Canada and supposedly he says he had a shop there for a while, drives an RS turbo?

Email someone on his Ebay feedback list, and ask them to access his info.
Also, send an email to ebay, and the FBI detailing your story. Right now the FBI really only handles jobs over $5000 but it doesn't hurt to try.
I'm not sure about the PayPal chargeback thing, I think you can do it over 30 days.
Sorry to hear about it, I've lost money too and I have over 300 transactions under my belt.

same thing happened to me. Armand Gonzales of San Jose, CA scammed me out of $275 for 99 GSR headlights. I e-mailed him and we decided on $275 shipped for the headlights. I paid and he said he shipped UPS. After 1 week and still no shipment, I e-mailed him, but his e-mail was cancelled. He unregistered his ebay acct. and paypal couldnt' get my money because his acct. balance was $0. I was so pissed. I filed fraud reports to both Austin, TX police and San Jose Police. I will give anyone in the San Jose area $50 if you get my money back. Stop by his house or something. Let me know! thanks! Also, tell me what happens with this post, maybe it will help me get my money back.

The guy just called me wich is a good sign but unfortunatedly he gave me no info other than, it was shipped and wait another week, i asked for tracking but he says he doesnt have it. i think its all bull but i'd still be happy to receive product. thanks

if you paid him out of your own bank account through paypal then you are pretty much screwed. but if you used a credit card there is such a thing as credit protection. with my visa i can deny charges if things have gone awry, with amex you can outright refuse a charge and they will investigate the transaction for you. sorry it happened but we all learn from mistakes. good luck!
I did pay with a visa and already placed a claim with them, I dont konw what will happen since if visa takes back the money then Pay Pal will be the one to loose, so they probably have something worked out with the CC companies to protect themselves from that. but we'll see what happens.

i recently heard of this site about paypal its http://www.paypalsucks.com i dunno if this site is for real, but it made me think because I always use paypal. hope this helps in some way and good luck man
Ok my brother had the same problem, but eventually got his parts. But if it had gone on as long as your problem has gone on, he would have told the seller that either he has a friend in the area that will be more than happy to pick the parts up for him or say that next week I'll be in the area on business so I'll just come by a pick the parts up. That usually works pretty good in the early stage, again my dad also had the same problem with a guy on ebay and he gave the business gig, and the next week he recieved his stuff. And so the seller doesn't know if you are coming or not. But if you are still in contact with him give him the line that you have a friend up in Canada that will pick up the parts. THen contact ebay, then the police, then the FBI, and so on and so on. Or I was just thinking if you could find someone on this forum who lives close to him, try and get him to do it. There you go. Hope you get your parts.
